Montaria Grande Escolha 2013 Red 75cl
Red fruit layered with tobacco and peppermint aromas. Palate has rich plum and earthy flavours, pepper and spice characters
Alentejo, this beautiful land where tranquility and greatness come together. The vast fields, vineyards, olive trees and the whitewashed houses in the villages make this place unique.
WINEMAKER: António Ventura
GRAPE VARIETIES: Syrah, Touriga Nacional and Alicante Bouschet.
Dark ruby colour. Red fruit layered with tobacco and peppermint aromas. The palate has rich plum and earthy flavours, pepper and spice characters. Structured palate with silky tannins. Velvety finish.
Our grapes were carefully selected and totally destemmed on arrival at the winery. “Lagares” with mechanical foot treading were used for fermentation at a controlled temperature of 25ºC. After malo-lactic fermentation, the wine was transferred into a combination of half French and half American oak barrels for a 10 months ageing.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14%
Our Montaria Grande Escolha pairs perfectly with Lamb Stew with Lemon and Figs or Pork Tender-loin with Fresh Mango Salsa.
