Dow’s is owned and managed by the\u00a0<\/span>fourth generation of the Symington family,\u00a0<\/span>Port producers since the 19th Century. The\u00a0<\/span>family, whose experience dates back over\u00a0<\/span>100 years, supervises all the vineyards,\u00a0<\/span>winemaking and ageing of this wine.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dow’s owns two of the Douro’s finest\u00a0<\/span>Quintas, Senhora da Ribeira and Bomfim.\u00a0<\/span>They were acquired in 1890 and 1896,\u00a0<\/span>making Dow’s one of the first houses to\u00a0<\/span>invest in premium vineyards.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

FINE TAWNY<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dow’s Fine Tawny is a three-year-old blend\u00a0aged in small oak casks at our lodges in Vila\u00a0<\/span>Nova de Gaia. The barrel ageing produces a\u00a0smoother and lighter style of wine than the<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Dow’s Ruby which is aged primarily in large\u00a0oak vats and tonels. Dow’s Tawny combines\u00a0<\/span>subtle fruit with delicious velvety nutty flavours\u00a0derived from the cask ageing. It is ready to\u00a0<\/span>drink and enjoy when bottled and does not\u00a0<\/span>require further ageing.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Appealing tawny colour. Dow’s Fine Tawny manages to combine velvety\u00a0smooth nutty and caramel aromas with delicious ripe fruit such as apricots,\u00a0<\/span>with hints of raisins. On the palate fresh, well balanced and with a long and\u00a0<\/span>slightly dry finish.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
