It is a journey by 20 Portuguese wineries, the stories and the people who give them personality and unique characteristics, with special emphasis on architecture’s most emblematic buildings, the landscapes and the cultivated varieties. “Wines with art” was coordinated by António Marreiros Neto, with texts (in Portuguese and English) of own and José António Fonseca and watercolors and drawings by Serrão de Faria.
More than 200 pages where it honors the Portuguese wine and the people who do. In “Wines with art,” we find twenty of the most popular Portuguese grape varieties, as many wineries whose architectural and functional value signals the panorama of excellence in the sector and also portraits of some of the people who embody these projects.
“The inspiration for this work, edited by Agradávelesboço, can be found in the already distant year 1900, when Bernardino Camilo Cincinnato da Costa presented, in a Universal Exhibition in Paris through a initiative of Real Associação d’Agricultura Portuguesa, an oenological study of the main castes Portuguese, illustrated by watercolourist Alfredo Roque Gameiro. The work, entitled O ‘Portugal Vinícola’ (Portugal Winery), then actually win the Grand-Prix Exhibition.” The reissue of this book 100 years later, in a numbered edition of 1,000 copies.
