Port Wine Croft Reserva Tawny 75cl
Region: Douro, Portugal
Tawny Reserve aged in oak casks for about 7 years with relief to the depth of tastes of an older wine and the softness of a wine ready to be consumed.
Tasting notes:
Red-brick color with amber tone, anticipating an aromatic explosion in the red fruit nose and caramel.
Seductive on the palate for the notes of caramel, butter, cardamom and spices wrapped by the subtle gooseberry and walnuts.
Soft and round at the end is long and elegant.
Harmonizes well with desserts, where they emphasize the almond flavors, red fruits and dark chocolate, or with blue paste cheeses.
Always serve fresh any time of the year. Consumption at 15ºC is recommended.
Croft is one of the most distinguished brands of all Port wine producing houses.
Founded in 1588, it is the oldest operating company in the area and is particularly known for its Vintage Port wines, for its range of Reserve Port wines aged in wood and also for its Tawnies, styles that last through time thanks to the skill and experience that have been passed down from generation to generation.
However, despite its rich heritage and history spanning over four centuries, it has never been limited by its tradition. It maintains a pioneering spirit, creating innovative styles such as Croft Pink, the first rosé port wine.
The cornerstone of the distinctive style of the Croft house is the famous Quinta da Roêda, described as the jewel of Port wine estates.
The wines from this magnificent estate, which contains some of the oldest vineyards in the Douro region, form the heart of the brand’s Vintage Port blend.
As important as its history, traditions and vineyards, is the fact that it continues to be a family business, dedicated to the production of all styles of the best Port wines, from the full-bodied Reserve Ports to the iconic Vintage Ports, very appreciated by both the connoisseur and the collector.
