Wine Quinta do Pinto Tinta Miúda Red 2004 75cl
The wine
Tinta Miúda is a local grape from Alenquer that has expressed itself in a very original and exceptional way in the Quinta’s terroir.
Produced only from old vines, aged in French oak barrels for 18 months.
It is a variety with an exotic profile, and with a lot of irreverence and a marked acidity that gives it a very distinctive character!
Geology: Clay-limestone soils, originating from the Jurassic period, with clayey and frank texture. gentle coastlines with southern exposure.
Cultivation method: Integrated production
The winemaking:
Careful management of the vegetation to optimize the aromatic potential of the grape.
Manual harvest in a box and subsequent selection of the best bunches at the entrance to the cellar. Alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature for 14 days, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging for 18 months in second-year French oak barrels.
Aged in bottle since 2006
Tasting notes:
Garnet color with brick tones.
Aromas of red fruits with hints of pine, resin and menthol. Very balsamic.
In the mouth it shows very present evolved fruit, with firm and growing tannins. Living acidity. Finishes elegant and long.
Service suggestion:
Temperature 16 to 18º C.
Accompanying game dishes, red meat, such as roast beef.
