Chryseia Red Wine 2012 75cl
Aromas of wild berries with vegetal notes. Luxurious palate, with superb purity of fruit and attractive minerality with shale touch
Out of stock
The Chryseia 2012 was produced from a careful selection of grapes from the vineyards of the Prats & Symington, located in Roriz Farms and Partridge. Quinta da Vila Velha, Symington owned by a family member and neighbor Roriz, also made its contribution, as it has happened in all previous editions of Chryseia.
What else marked the wine year 2011/2012 was the shortage of water. It rained in November and April. The winter was extremely cold, the coldest since 1991. A bloom with little success, led to some incidence of baguinha and a small production. Summer temperatures below average softened the effect of the lack of water in the soil and a small number of bunches per vine, it was possible to achieve the full ripening of the grapes and the production of excellent wines. The harvest of grapes for Chryseia 2012 took place at Quinta de Roriz between 12 September and 8 October and Quinta da Partridge 27 September to 9 October.
Appealing aromas of wild berries with vegetal notes. Luxurious palate, with superb purity of fruit and attractive minerality with shale touch. Integration impeccable wood. Set very well balanced with intense and spicy tannins. A wine of great precision, generous and powerful but also very stylish.
