Grapes: Malmsey 50% + 50% Bual
Winemaking: Fermentation of skins with natural yeast at temperatures between 18ºC and 21ºC in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature.
Stage: The Blandy’s Alvada was aged in American oak casks for 5 years. It used the traditional “Site” system, which includes the gentle heating of the wine in the cellars of the company’s warehouse in Funchal.
Tasting Notes: Attractive brown-gold. Nose features the classic bouquet of Madeira wines, dried fruit, caramel and notes of spices and oak. The palate is velvety, soft and full-bodied, balanced acidity. A long finish with notes of honey.
