Port Wine DOW’S Lágrima 75cl
Dow’s Lágrima is a sweet white Port made primarily at our Quinta do Sol and Quinta do Bomfim wineries. Only traditional white grape varieties from the Douro valley are used.
Dow’s Lágrima was 100% fermented off the skins, using temperature control so that fermentation took place between 18-22ºc, and is made vinified into a deliberately sweeter style of White Port.
Aged for an average of three years it is bottled when ready to drink and requires no further ageing. Decanting is also unnecessary and the wine is excellent when served as an aperitif the colder the better. Equally it makes an excellent combination when served with cake or sweet desserts.
Tasting Notes
Dow’s Lágrima has a very attractive golden straw colour. On the nose it shows lifted floral aromas, combined with complex nuance of raisins, honey, almonds and a touch of refreshing Muscat. On the palate very sweet, with soft floral favours and a long and concentrated finish.
