Port Wine Fonseca Vintage 2003 37,5cl – Half bottle
Tasting notes:
Beautiful deep color with red brick halo. Nose of good depth, sweet and harmonious, something witty, rich, soft touches of black chocolate and cherry (cherry tomatoes).
Harmonious and elegant, some quality structure with amazing notes of spices and mint, very clear fruit, soft. A Vintage of great pleasure, now with good tannins to take you to an old age. It appears softer than normal.
Nose close. Huge fruit, black currant and blackberry, truly intense jam with notes of cocoa and firm but silky tannins. A powerful wine Vintage Port. Ripe fruit quality, good expression, cherry, a charming character.

“Delicate and charming aroma. Floral notes, elegant morello cherry, dried herbs, soft chemical nuances. On the palate displays a strange blend of power and elegance, complex, with silk covered steel tannins, all in harmony and super tuned, with a extremely long finish. “

The winter preceding the 2003 harvest was very wet. Flowering took place in late May, with warm and bright time, under conditions regarded as one of the best in years.
The first two weeks of August provided the intense summer heat that often precedes a great wine Vintage. The second half of August was cooler and two days of rain perfectly timely eventually favor the ripening of the grapes at the end of the month.
The time of the grape harvest in September was warm, dry and yields were uniform for all castes, ensuring balance and complexity in the wines.
