TASTING NOTES
Young and deep ruby color. Intense nose, rich and fruity, full of pure aromas of blackberry, cassis, cherry and plum intertwined with spicy notes.
The palate is full-bodied and round, with a soft and velvety texture balanced by firm tannins that fill the mouth. The juicy black fruit flavors continue the delicious and rich finish.
SUGGESTED SERVICE
Rich Bin 27 black fruit flavors combine perfectly with desserts of chocolate and berries. A chocolate fondant with strawberries makes a wonderfully hedonistic combination, where the rich and creamy chocolate and delicious ripe strawberries blend seductively with black currant type of fruit wine and cherry.
Bin 27 is also excellent after a meal with dark chocolate high cocoa content or a plate of brownies or chocolate truffles. Like all Port wines young, the Bin 27 harmonizes very well with mature soft cheeses, can also be served alone at the end of the meal or any relaxed occasion, a cup of generous dimensions.
DESCRIPTION
Bin 27 is as well known as the Fonseca own. Although for connoisseurs and collectors the house is synonymous with Fonseca Vintage Port, it is actually the Bin 27 wine that quickly comes to mind of thousands of consumers and Port of lovers when they think of Fonseca. Bin 27 is a rich and fruity wine, made from a batch of wines. It is sold worldwide, with particular popularity in the US market.
The Fonseca Bin 27 was launched in Britain 40 years ago. At that time, the wine market of Porto was undergoing profound changes. Consumers were becoming increasingly savvy and demanding in choosing their wines. No longer content with simple Port young wines which hitherto accounted for much of the consumption; They sought more sophisticated and differentiated wines, so much to enjoy at home and in restaurants.
And the Vintage Port was not always the solution. Although consumers liked the depth of flavor and rich character of Vintage Ports, the need for decanting and finish the bottle within a few hours determined that they were not always the best choice to be drunk by the glass in more informal occasions.
Furthermore, Vintage Port Wine were relatively expensive. The sister house of Fonseca, Taylor Fladgate & Yeatman, responded to this demand by developing a new style of wine from Oporto: Late Bottled Vintage, which had great success. The Fonseca, however, decided to do something different.
