Wine Quinta das Bágeiras DOC Red Garrafeira 2016 75cl
Producer: Quinta das Bágeiras, Mario Sergio
Region: Bairrada DOC, Portugal
Type: Red
Grapes: Baga
The Garrafeira red wine is produced exclusively from Baga, a special vineyard with over 75 years. Aged in cask for at least 18 months, suffering from back in the bottle before being released onto the market. This wine, given its characteristics, being a pure berry, needs time to be released in due course. Warranties of many years of aging, which will surely enhance and soften its tannins.
It is a wine that presents an intense garnet color, with slightly brownish red rim. On the nose, the aroma is extremely complex, resinous, cool and dry, with the characteristic aroma of berry, some spice and vegetable. On the palate, very fresh, dense with a great body and austere tannins. The ending is typical of the grape baga, dry, but very long and tasty.
Powerful, firm and intense, pure and hard copy of Baga. While not for everyone, has a huge development potential in the future.
