Soil: Soil Mediterranean brown medium productive potential
Climate: Mediterranean with cold winters with rainfall concentrated between October and February (the average rainfall Annual around 700 mm) and hot summers, with temperatures near 40C at the time of maturation.
Winemaking: The grapes of different varieties were harvested according to their state of maturation for 20 boxes Kg and immediately vinified. In 2002 the selection of grapes was very large due to climatic hardships (it started to rain
on 12 September) and all that has been used in this wine were Alicante grapes harvested before this date. Without de-stemming, the wine fermented in vats with treading feet. After fermentation the wine was discharged into containers for casks of large Oak dimensions Portuguese, macacauba and mahogany ensued fermentation malolactic. Concept of crops Older: Given the unique characteristics of these wines, including their enormous longevity, since there were always left in cellar of the Estate lots of bottles of each vintage in order to assess their evolution. In recent years the number of bottles that remain in the cellar has been increasing, in order to later be able to again challenge consumer Mouchão to discover the splendor of these wines. It is with this spirit that has re-launched the 2000 harvest again, giving birth to a new way of discovering Mouchão.
Wine with an intense ruby color and an aroma with notes of mint and eucalyptus, black fruit compote and spice. In the mouth, the wine comes from balanced way, combining a striking structure with a nice acidity and a long and elegant persistence based on a large concentration of silky tannins.
It is advisable a service temperature around 16/17 ° C and a small preliminary decantation. Its huge youth, does not require still great oxygenation periods.
